Pasta Dinner May 30, 2014 To Support Local Family



On Saturday May 10, 2014 a tragic accident on the 401 took the lives of two members of our community.  Alyssa Smulders, 13, and her Uncle Marc Lafontaine, 35, both of Windsor were killed when a truck crossed the open median near Chatham, ON.

In an effort to assist the family with funeral and living expenses during this trying time, several benefits, and a fund have been set up for those wishing to make donations.

The following events are being held:

A benefit dinner will be held at the Moose Lodge 777 Tecumseh Rd. W. on Friday May 30th, 6PM
Tickets are $15 at the door, $10 of which to go to the family.


A benefit Poker tournament is being held at Lauzon Landing 1545 Lauzon Rd, on Saturday May 31st, at 1pm.  The tournament will have a buy-in of $50, with half the prize pool going to the family.  There will be additional door prizes, and a portion of all food and beverage sales are going to the family.

About the Facilitator
Murad Erzinclioglu is the current Music Director at CJAM 99.1FM, creative director of Harvesting the FAM Festival and one half of the Nationally charting duo Learning. Through his work at CJAM, with Learning and FAM Festival, over the past 12 years Murad has developed a deep knowledge of the inner workings of the independent music industry and steps that can be taken to increase potential for success. Murad has chaired the Music Caucus at the National Campus-Community Radio Conference and spoke about DIY sensibilities and know-how on a panel at College Music Journal Conference in New York City.

Gift of Sport Walk-A-Thon May 19, 2014



Spring into Action this season with KidSport Windsor and provide the Gift of Sport to local area under-resourced children by participating in the first annual Gift of Sport Walk-A-Thon.


This event will be held on Victoria Day (Monday, May 19, 2014) at the Riverfront Festival Place from 11 a.m. -to 2 p.m.


Family, Friends and Caring Individuals will band together to raise funds to ensure that all kids have the opportunity to play organized sports!


 
Event Details


 
Walkers will meet at Assumption Park and warm-up with In Motion at 10:15 a.m. The walk will then begin at 10:30 a.m. en route to Riverfront Festival Place. FREE parking will be available on-site.


 
Live Entertainment, Food and Children’s Activities will be in abundance and FREE to the public!!!


 
100% of all funds raised will help children play organized sports.


 
We hope to see you on this special occasion, which will be celebrated with the City of Windsor’s 122nd birthday during the Mayor’s Walk!
